This volunteer program gives young men and women ages 16 to 20 a unique hands-on chance to determine if they want to pursue a career in law enforcement. On behalf of the more than 5000 men and women of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department I support the mission of our Explorer Program.
The young adults who dedicate themselves to our agency are the future of this organization. Now more than ever law enforcement agencies are called to work side-by-side with the community. Lieutenant Branden Clarkson has been a member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for the past 13 years.
He started his career in law enforcement as an Explorer with LVMPD at the age of 16 and started the LVMPD police academy at 21. The North Las Vegas Police Department Explorer Program is an educational program designed to assist young people in preparing for their future with emphasis on a future career in the law enforcement field.
